Nothing like seven day work weeks to make you appreciate weekends...
Category Everything Else
While I'm not ready to drop yet, these seven day work weeks are starting to wear on me. The last "I'm not logging on and it's not expected" was the July 4th holiday. Things start to return to a semblance of normalacy starting in August, and I also have a couple vacations coming up between now and the week of Labor Day (first week in September). My wife and I are taking an Alaskan cruise in less than two weeks, followed by a week down at DisneyWorld in September. The cruise was a point of contention when my wife first booked it back in January (long story), but now the anticipation of a week away is the only thing keeping me sane... :)

I've never been on a cruise. I'm not really the cruise type. I have a hammock. I've had it 15 years now. Every spring I drag it out and set it up, and every fall I put it away. I've never spent more than 15 minutes in it. My neighbor laughed this spring when she saw me bring it out. She doesn't think I'm a hammock sort either.
I can't imagine spending days on a cruise ship.

Just a few minuets with Google Earth and the Alaskan coast and I'm wimpering like a home-sick coon dog.

Vacations are what you make them, my friend...

I understand that everyone has their own ways to relax. For the wife and I, it's either heading down to DisneyWorld or hopping on a cruise ship going somewhere...

Jerry... I'm going with little expectations. I always claimed I wasn't old enough yet to go on an Alaskan cruise (stereotyped old people bundled up on the deck chairs). And living in the Northwest, I tend to think "trees, mountains, water.. been there, done that." You could say the whole "isn't nature beautiful?" attitude doesn't have the same impact on me as it does others. I'm more looking forward to just being away.
Of course, I'm willing to be awed and amazed by what I see, too... :)
