Next speaking stop... Dublin Ireland in June at their user group meeting!

Category Ireland User Group Meeting

Paul Mooney placed a bug in my ear, asking if I'd be interested in visiting Dublin in June to speak at their user group meeting. At first, I didn't quite see how I could pull that off. But the wife thought it would be a good idea for me to do that (!), and she started looking at airfares. Long story short, I'm booked for a somewhat whirlwind visit across the pond in June. Arrive there on Thursday, June 15th (after a LONG couple of days of travel), speak on Friday, June 16th, and then head back home on Monday, June 19th.

Collapse from exhaustion on Tuesday, June 20th... :)

And I'll finally get to use my passport for something more than cruises and crossing the Canadian border...

Dont lie!
Naww - will have some travel plans for the guys and bring them about a wee bit.

Gravatar Image2 - @1: There's no golf for me here in the States... why should I embarrass myself internationally? :) And go ahead and do the poll when it gets closer. Here are the general things to remember... I leave at 11:59 pm on a Tuesday and arrive in NY at 8 am on Wednesday. I then leave JFK at 7 pm-ish and arrive in Dublin the next morning (Thursday). I speak on Friday, sightsee with the Domino crazies all weekend, and then fly back Monday.

As you can see, there'll be plenty of time in the air. The ground time will be pretty busy, so not much reading there. The jet lag might kill me. So make sure you increment the selections by 1. :)

@2: So am I...

Gravatar Image3 - Boy, am I jealous! That sounds like fun!

I have a passport, and can't even get anyone at the Canadian border crossing to stamp it for me so that it looks like I used it. Sigh...

I remember Paul talking to Greyhawk, Mrs. Greyhawk and me about going over there someday. We WERE at Sea World after many beverages, though...

Cheers!

Gravatar Image4 - Want for me to create another book poll for the flights? I know exactly what you mean re:passport. I use mine for the same things, which is kinda sad. No golf for you while in Ireland?

Gravatar Image5 - It shall be fun... :)

Gravatar Image6 - Excellent! You'll have a great time. Make sure to get over to the Guinness brewery tour - the history of their ads is fascinating (and the beer doesn't suck). And I have to recommend the Book of Kells (aka "Some Stupid Book"). Newgrange is fantastic if you can get out there.

Anyway, you're in good hands for your touring; just don't let Mooney convince you that there's nothing to see in Dublin but the inside of pubs!!

Gravatar Image7 - Can't wait to see you. (And Warren says hi too!). We shall be leading the domino crazies!

Gravatar Image8 - Looking forward to it!!
