Our Java For The Domino Developer went great!

Category Live From Lotusphere!

Thursday, January 29th, 12:03 am

First off...  thank you all for attending and making the session very memorable for Joe and I.  It went very well and we had a blast up there.  We were hoping that people would walk away thinking that they could actually do Java, and the feedback I've heard so far is that we connected.  I'll look at the actual evals tomorrow, but I can truly say that I am completely satisfied with our first Lotusphere speaking gig.  It helped to have so many friends in the front row making sure we stayed humble beforehand....

For those who are visiting to find the session slides and the database...

Now, there are a couple of suggestions I've had for slide changes, but I'm too tired right now to do much about it.  Maybe this weekend.  Until then, I just want to savor the speaker high...  :-)

Thanks again, everyone.  You made my Lotusphere!

Gravatar Image1 - Tom/Joe,
I would like to Thank You for a very well thought out presentation.
Its a great resource for LotuScript experts who have had very little exposure to Java. I have'nt come across a presentation before yours which approched Java via the LS route in a clear and simple manner.

Thanks.

Gravatar Image2 - Hey Tom, I noticed one of the slides mentions free books... is there an ecopy we can download or otherwise send you something nice in return for?

Gravatar Image3 - Unfortunately, no. I received a number of books from publishers with whom I have contacts. Most of them were leading Java tutorial books, and we wanted to make sure some people walked out with the tools they needed to keep up their learning. Neither Joe or I are at the book writing stage yet...

Gravatar Image4 - Thanks, Melissa... I'm hoping we can incorporate the feedback we've heard into our Advisor articles, and perhaps have the new articles feed revised versions of the presentation.

I'm glad I got the chance to finally meet you, too!

Gravatar Image5 - Tom-
Both you and Joe deserve very high marks for a well-done session. It really was the perfect approach to inspire those reluctant Lotusscript programmers to begin to take the leap. Thanks for putting together such a great presentation, and I'm glad you had so much fun. I definitely want to see more after that debut!

When you shop Amazon, start your shopping experience here.

When you do that, all your purchases during that session earn me an affiliate commission via the Amazon Affiliate program. You don't have to buy the book I linked you to (although I wouldn't complain!). Simply use that as your starting point.

Thanks!
