Wi-fi access in Penticton, British Columbia?

In a few weeks, I'll be transporting my kids up to Penticton for the Okanagan Hockey School for a week. While I'm not looking forward to sitting in an ice arena for 10 hours a day, 5 straight days, I do plan on getting a lot of writing and book reviews done.
What I'd love to find out is if there is any way to hook into a free high-speed internet hookup while I'm up there. It could be wi-fi (Starbucks, anyone?) or anything else. I just don't want to be net-less during that time...
Anyone have ideas on how to check it out?

Many hotspots aren't mapped (heck, someone has to map them for them to be mapped, eh?). In Seattle a week ago, I was talking to a gent with an open laptop PC outside the Sheraton. I asked if he had a wifi connection going and he said it'd been great inside the building but was spotty outside. Similarly, many hotels and businesses have open wifi without running even basic WEP. You just need a way of detecting the availability.

Should be a great trip. I hear its really nice up in Penticton. 3 of Trevor's teammates just spent 2 weeks up at Okanagan's IDT Tournament. Enjoy some of that great weather and sights up there. If it was me, I would find a nice wi-fi hangout where I could sit outside.
